Sunshine Coast Futsal Dominates Again!

CONGRATULATIONS to all our Players & Coaches that represented Sunshine Coast Futsal at the Craig Foster Challenge Cup last weekend.

Sunshine Coast Futsal has been declared the Champion Region of Football Queensland Futsal once again for the second year running.

Futsal Coaching Course

Football Queensland are running a Community Futsal Coaching Certificate at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Sunday March 18th from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The cost of the course is $77.00 and if you’re interested you need to register at http://footballcoachqld.com.au/eventinfo.php?id=674

If you are unable to attend this course please refer to the attachment as there will be another course provided at QSAC (QE2 Stadium)  in Brisbane on 29th April in which you will also need to register at http://footballcoachqld.com.au/eventinfo.php?id=677

This Community Certificate Course is a great introduction to futsal coaching and is currently the pre-requisite to apply to coach a Qld State Team at the National Futsal Championships in Canberra.

Following this Community Certificate Course will be a Community Futsal License Course later on this year with dates and venue still to be announced.

The course is open to anyone over the age of 16.

You must register for the course online but if you have any questions please call the office on 07 5443 1100.

Sunshine Coast Teams Dominate

Congratulations to all the Sunshine Coast Futsal Teams that participated in the Johnny Warren Cup last Saturday at Cornubia Sports Stadium. The JW Cup is a futsal competition where the best club teams from each region play against each other to be named " Champion of Champions ".

Winners 11 Boys - Tomfoolery ( Sunny Coast )

Runners Up 12 Boys - Sharpshooters ( Sunny Coast )

Q2. Where does the name Futsal come from? A2. It comes from the portugese words that literally mean Soccer/Football inside.

Q3. What are the benefits of futsal? A3. Futsal provides opportunity for players to have lots of touches on the ball, improves speed of decision making and the speed of execution of the technical skills. + much much more...........

Q4. What are the main differences between Futsal and Football? A4. Futsal is 5 A-side and played on a much smaller court than football and played at all levels with a smaller ball that has low-bounce.  Football is 11 aside played primarily on grass fields.  Both games are governed by FIFA and have a World Cup.
